Our Mission

As legal professionals, we believe we can make a difference in the lives of our clients by giving them a voice as they reclaim their right to dignity and respect. Through civil litigation, we hold individuals, institutions and organizations accountable, and are committed to make our community safer, more equitable and more just—one case at a time.

Our Team

The Adams Law Firm, P.C. is a civil litigation practice with offices in Glastonbury, Connecticut. We represent individuals in Connecticut and Massachusetts who have suffered harm by those who have abused power or influence wherever it happens — in schools, religious institutions, workplaces, care facilities, public spaces, or other settings.

Founding Attorney

Elizabeth Knight Adams

Attorney Adams understands that clients are often reluctant to seek justice through the civil litigation. In a culture that often shames victims into silence, Liz knows the courage it takes to speak truth to powerful institutions despite underlying fears: “What if no one believes me?” or “What if they tell me it was my fault?” At the Adams Law Firm, your story matters.

Attorney Adams has established legal precedent in numerous cases creating greater protections for vulnerable children and adults. Notably, Attorney Adams was lead counsel in Doe v. Bradshaw, a case filed in Massachusetts Federal District Court, which established that Mass. Gen. Laws ch. 214 § 1C confers strict vicarious liability on an educational institution for sexual harassment by any employee vested with the authority to care for and supervise students.

Attorney Adams has recovered millions of dollars in compensation for her clients, helping to provide the resources necessary to recover from the trauma they have experienced and so they can begin to rebuild their lives.

“I began my career as a civil defense attorney representing businesses and insurers, where I learned to navigate civil lawsuits in state and federal court. By understanding the strategies used by defendants to defeat a case, I quickly discovered my true calling was on the other side of the table as an advocate for victim’s rights. Whether representing a victim of sexual abuse or assault, or an employee who has faced harassment or discrimination, my passion is in helping people reclaim their right to dignity and respect and to rebuild their lives through the litigation process.”
